"It is better than any other HVAC in any other home of mine."
I highly recommend Arthur's! They responded to my message when another highly-rated company did not. They were on time, friendly and respectful. Corey, the technician, was honest, and he clearly explained what was wrong and why. Arthur's worked with me on the payment plan. Best of all, my new HVAC works great. It is better than any other HVAC in any other home of mine.

"Thanks for the fantastic service at a critical time!"
Clayton Alexander of Arthur's Air Conditioning and Heating came out on time on a cold 6 degree Sun morning with a -10 wind chill. My heat pump/electric coil system was not heating properly & my house was down to 63 degrees and getting colder. Clayton was able to diagnose a faulty switch for the electric coil part of the heating. The heat pump itself was working fine but couldn't keep up with the demand by itself. Clayton was able to patch the system so that both the heat pump and electric coil could work while the part was being ordered & received. Thanks for the fantastic service at a critical time!

How Often Does My Oklahoma AC Equipment Need Maintenance?
Regular upkeep of your air conditioning system is paramount to ensure efficiency, longevity, and optimal performance, especially during times of peak usage. At a minimum, annual maintenance is recommended, with professional checks and tune-ups ideally performed in the spring before the hot weather forces your system to operate at full capacity.
Certain parts of your AC system may need more frequent maintenance. Air filters, for example, should be checked monthly and replaced or cleaned depending on their condition – potentially as often as every 30 to 90 days. Homes with pets, those in dusty environments, or with family members who have allergies may need to replace filters more often to ensure healthy indoor air quality. The more frequently the filter is checked and maintained, the less strain there is on the air conditioning unit, ultimately saving energy costs and extending your system’s life.
Debris and dirt need to be regularly cleared from around the condenser coils of your AC system’s outdoor unit to prevent blockage and overheating. This should be done at least twice a year, particularly after the fall and before the start of the cooling season. Similarly, the condensate drain line should be checked and flushed regularly to prevent blockage and the potential for water damage. You can typically perform some basic maintenance tasks, such as filter replacement and clearing debris, yourself. However, you should turn to our Norman air conditioning maintenance experts to handle more complex issues like checking the refrigerant, mechanical components, and electrical connections.
Not sure if your AC equipment needs more frequent inspections or tune-ups? We are happy to evaluate the health of your system and recommend a tailored maintenance plan that provides optimal performance and invaluable peace of mind.
Responsive AC Repairs
Our AC experts can quickly diagnose and fix many types of problems, including:
Scheduling AC repairs at the earliest sign of trouble is extremely important. After all, the last thing you want is a total system breakdown when temperatures are at their highest. Prompt repairs not only ensure your AC system operates at peak efficiency but also maintain the comfort and health of your home's environment. Our Norman air conditioning services include emergency repairs. We are available for emergency service 7 days a week, so do not hesitate to give us a call if your AC equipment needs immediate attention.
-
Low Refrigerant LevelsRefrigerant is essential for your AC to cool the air. If your system is low on refrigerant, it could be due to leaks, which we can detect and repair.
-
Dirty Condenser CoilsThe condenser coil, part of your AC's outdoor unit, expels heat removed from the air outside. When it gets covered with dirt and grime, heat transfer is compromised, leading to increased pressure and temperatures that can cause your system to fail.
-
Fan ProblemsYour AC unit has two fans: one that blows indoor air over the evaporator coil to cool it and another that expels the absorbed heat outside through the condenser. Issues like a faulty motor, worn belts, or too much dirt and debris can impede their operation and lead to poor airflow and AC performance.
-
Leaking DuctsDuctwork that is broken or improperly sealed can leak cooled air, significantly reducing your system's efficiency and effectiveness. We can inspect, seal, or repair ducts to ensure optimal performance.
-
Drainage ProblemsThe condensate drain can become clogged over time, potentially leading to water damage and affecting indoor humidity levels. Regular maintenance checks can ensure the drain remains clear for proper water disposal.
-
Thermostat IssuesSometimes, the problem isn't with the AC unit itself: A faulty thermostat may be to blame. We can calibrate or replace malfunctioning thermostats to ensure accurate temperature settings and efficient system operation.
Benefits of Regular AC Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your air conditioning system is paramount for ensuring peak performance, longevity, and energy efficiency. It’s a proactive investment that saves you money and hassle in the long run.
Some of the key advantages of well-maintained air conditioning equipment include:
- Reduced energy bills. A well-maintained AC unit operates more efficiently. Clean filters and coils mean your system requires less energy to cool your space, leading to lower monthly utility bills.
- Extended equipment life. Just like any major appliance, an air conditioner will last longer with proper care. Regular maintenance helps address wear and tear that can accelerate the aging of your system.
- Improved indoor air quality. Air conditioners do more than cool the air – they also purify it. Clean filters and coils ensure that your unit is not circulating dust, pollen, and other allergens within your home.
- Fewer emergency repairs. Maintenance can identify and resolve small issues before they become big problems, which can reduce the likelihood of major disruptions and inconvenient emergency repair calls.
- Consistent comfort. Regular maintenance ensures that your AC unit is functioning properly, which means your spaces will remain at consistent, comfortable temperatures.
- Enhanced resale value. If you're planning to sell your property, a well-maintained HVAC system can be a selling point and potentially increase the market value of your home.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I Schedule AC Maintenance Before or After Summer?
Ideally, you should schedule your AC maintenance before the peak summer season arrives. This proactive approach allows technicians to identify and address any potential problems before they lead to a breakdown during the hottest days of the year. A spring cleaning for your AC unit ensures it's operating at optimal efficiency, keeping your home cool and your energy bills low.
What are Signs My AC Needs Maintenance?
Several signs indicate your AC unit might require maintenance. These include:
- Reduced airflow: If your air conditioning system isn't adequately cooling your home, it could signify clogged air filters or restricted airflow due to dirty coils.
- Unusual noises: Strange grinding, banging, or clanging sounds coming from your AC unit are a cause for concern and could indicate loose parts or failing components.
- Leaking water: Leaks around your indoor unit are a telltale sign of clogged condensate lines or a malfunctioning drain pan.
- Rising energy bills: A sudden increase in your energy bills might indicate your AC system is working harder than usual to cool your home, potentially due to inefficiency caused by a lack of maintenance.
