"Thanks for the fantastic service at a critical time!"

Clayton Alexander of Arthur's Air Conditioning and Heating came out on time on a cold 6 degree Sun morning with a -10 wind chill. My heat pump/electric coil system was not heating properly & my house was down to 63 degrees and getting colder. Clayton was able to diagnose a faulty switch for the electric coil part of the heating. The heat pump itself was working fine but couldn't keep up with the demand by itself. Clayton was able to patch the system so that both the heat pump and electric coil could work while the part was being ordered & received. Thanks for the fantastic service at a critical time!

Commercial Versus Residential HVAC Systems

Understanding the functional differences between commercial and residential HVAC systems is pivotal for making an informed purchase.

Commercial HVAC applications necessitate a robust design to accommodate the sprawling square footage and high-occupancy areas typical of business environments. This often includes modular units that can be customized and scaled in alignment with the spatial dynamics and usage patterns of commercial buildings.

Furthermore, commercial HVAC systems prioritize strategic placement and are typically installed on rooftops to optimize space and mitigate noise pollution. In contrast, residential HVAC systems are less complex and designed to heat and cool smaller, less variable spaces within homes.

By working according to the heavier usage demands, more significant power requirements, and the advanced controls associated with commercial HVAC systems, we can deliver a comfortable, dependable, and cost-effective climate control solution.

Recognizing the Signs of Commercial HVAC Issues

Be sure to keep a lookout for the following signs of HVAC trouble:

When it comes to maintaining a comfortable commercial environment, vigilance is critical to detecting signs of HVAC problems early. We recommend regular system checkups to prevent these issues and keep your HVAC system functioning at its best.

  • Unusual Noises
A well-functioning HVAC system typically emits consistent humming. If you notice odd noises such as rattling, buzzing, or whistling, it could indicate that your system has loose components, is suffering electrical malfunctions, or is suffering from airflow obstructions.
  • Inconsistent Airflow or Temperature Fluctuations
Each area within your commercial space should remain at a stable temperature when your HVAC system is working correctly. Variability in airflow or temperature from one room to another can be a sign that your system has a blockage, a failing thermostat, or issues with ductwork. Inconsistent climate control not only affects comfort but also productivity and customer experience.
  • Spikes in Energy Bills
An unexplained increase in energy consumption can be a red flag for inefficiencies within your HVAC system. While seasonal changes can account for some fluctuations in energy usage, a spike that you cannot explain merits an energy audit. Frequently, the cause is an aging system or one that requires maintenance or part replacements to restore optimal efficiency.
  • Unpleasant Odors
If you detect foul or musty smells emanating from your HVAC system, it is essential to act swiftly. These odors can point to the presence of mold or mildew within your ductwork, compromised air quality, or even burned-out components. Ignoring these signs can lead to health concerns for your staff and clients and can negatively impact the overall ambiance of your commercial space.
  • Thermostat Issues
The thermostat serves as the central command center for your HVAC system. If you notice that your HVAC is failing to respond to thermostat settings or there are constant temperature mismatches, your thermostat may be malfunctioning or there may be a communication issue between the device and the HVAC system, potentially resulting in unnecessary strain on your system and reduced operational efficiency.
